A good appliance care routine does not need to be complicated. Focus on the machines that handle water, residue, and food or fabric buildup every week.
Start with the washer. Run an empty cleaning cycle and let the drum and gasket dry after laundry day.
Move to the dishwasher. Clean the filter, check for trapped food, and run a cleaner to help with odor and buildup.

Clean the coffee maker next. Run a cleaner or descaler through the brew path, then rinse with clean water.
Finish with the garbage disposal. Use a disposal cleaner so food residue and grease do not sit inside the unit.
If you can only do one thing, pick the machine that smells first. Odor is usually the sign that residue has been sitting too long.
The routine works best when it is scheduled. Choose one day each month and move through the same sequence every time.
