Why not just vinegar and baking soda?
The classic combo froths in the sink but does very little inside a sealed drum. Vinegar is a weak acid that loosens light scale and leaves the detergent gunk and biofilm behind, and run it often enough and that acid can wear on the rubber door seal and hoses over time, the parts that are expensive to replace. Will this work on my washer?

What does it actually clean?
The pump, drum, tub, valve, agitator, filter, and hoses. The tablet dissolves the detergent residue, grease, and limescale that build up in all of them, which is where the smell lives.
Why do I need to clean my washing machine?
Detergent, fabric softener, body oils, and hard water minerals collect inside the machine over time. That buildup makes the washer smell, makes towels smell, and makes the machine work harder than it should.
How do I use it?

Why is my machine foaming too much?
This rarely happens, but when it does excess foam can happen for a few common reasons:
1. Detergent buildup
Most people use more laundry detergent than needed. Over time, leftover detergent residue builds up inside the washer. When the cleaner tablet starts breaking it loose, that old detergent can foam up along with the cleaner. This usually means the cleaner is doing its job, and future cleanings should foam less if the washer is cleaned regularly.
2. Soft water
Soft water can create more suds, especially when combined with old detergent residue and a cleaning tablet. This can cause extra foam during the cycle.
3. Drainage issues
A partially clogged drain hose or slow-draining washer can cause water and foam to back up instead of draining properly.
